Injuries related to specific sports need to be dealt with thoroughly. They may originate from trauma due to a previous fall, accident, over-use, poor biomechanics or sports technique. The source of your injury needs to be identified so that the chances of the injury reoccurring are minimised, if not abolished. It is very important to be honest with your physiotherapist regarding frequency & intensity of training, any changes to your equipment eg bike set up, or new running shoes. These subtle changes can contribute to your injury. By including your physiotherapist in your goals and aspirations, your rehabilitation programme can be adjusted and personalised to incorporate those goals depending on your expected recovery from your injury.
